Fox Mulder believed that we are not alone. What do you believe? Are we alone in the universe, or is there other intelligent life out there somewhere? Do you believe in aliens?

I definitely believe that we are not alone! Im not sure why i think so but somehow i can feel it and it feels kind of stupid to think that we are alone concidering the size of the universe and the amount of galaxies there areSmiley

They are probably too far away to come and visit but they will come here at some point hopefully during our lifetimeSmiley

I am so sure of it...apparantly...

In a universe constantly expanding and changing where even our own glaxy extends far beyond our perceptions of life it sould be silly to assume we are alone in the universe.

Think about the stars in the sky and all you need is another planet to be just the right distance away from its particular star and hey presto you have life, quite possibly inteligent life perhaps even similar to our own.

Wether or not we will ever have the capability of communicating with that life is another matter.

I must cast myself into the belief that intelligent life has to, statistically, exist outside our little planet. The Universe is far too vast, far too old for us to be alone in it.

That said, those are also very good reasons as to why we might be alone.
Due to the size and age of the Universe, there might have been other intelligent life out there before us, and something might pop up after we're long gone.

When I think about the possibility of extraterrestial life existing, I don't think of them as little green men with big eyes and lack of genitals, who like to abduct rednecks and stick anal probes into them.

Given the extremes of climate and environment on Earth where life thrives, and every other environment in between, I would not be surprised if there actually is intelligent life out there.

Then again, I'm not putting my money on spaceships ever landing on Earth, either... I remain a skeptic, even when faced with the statistical reality. In conclusion, I don't think we're alone in the Universe, but to actually believe in aliens existing, I need proof. Guess it's the same approach as I have in regard to religion.

Everything always goes back to religion. If you believe that God created men and women, and all the other living creatures on Earth, i.e. the story Creation, can you believe in aliens? Wouldn't proof of extraterrestial life prove that God does not exist? Ok, creationists have said that dinosaurs roamed the Earth 4000 years ago in the Garden of Eden, so refuting aliens wouldn't be too hard, I guess...

My theory is as significant as theory of all those big scientists because I, just as them, don’t have any proof! haha! But atleast theory is mine! And it’s called: Theory of One Blondy Smiley
Just as humans millions years a go evolved from some lizards, (or what ever), into the monkeys; In the far far future, further then far, people won’t look anymore like they do today. After million years of evolution, to adapt to new biotope, humans will turn into little green creatures with big eyes. They will also discover famous time machine (we call it UFO Smiley and be able to travel trough time.
Already for hundred years has been predictions that some kind of big cataclysmic scenario is going to happen and destroy earth. Maybe it time will come million years from now and humans, sorry- little green ones- will travel with their time machine to past to warn the human race.
The most discreet time to return to is coupe of thousand years before Common Era when humans were still too stupid to understand anything, and that’s how warnings wouldn’t have to big influence on future events. Little green ones will leave them some knowledge and crap like that which they will cut into the caves walls, or what ever, not even knowing what they are doing. Aaand ta-dah! We still cannot explain pyramids, Mayas and Incas culture and million other things! That’s because little green ones showed them how to do it! Haha! Everything is possible Smiley

Who really knows? and for the most part does it really matter?
If there are other civz out there it wont help us in any way or harm us for that matter, ok it may but its not likely.
Anyway, my view is this:
Look at the universe, its huge, if people say that there is no other life forms out there than us then they are daft. this boils down to the whole topic of evoltion. scientifically there is no possible way that we are alone in the universe. now if we are that would make a fuckload of religious fruits happy as a tornado in a trailorpark. i just see it as we are not alone, and as for how much i care i wish we could just be ignorant to said fact.
cheers!

The Drake equation states that: (wikipedia)

N = R* Fp Ne Fl Fi Fc L

where N is the number of civilizations in our galaxy with which we might hope to be able to communicate. Look it up, i believe Smiley
